Early bird £10.00 tickets expire soon!

Alexis van Hurkman will be there showing off Resolve, which I have seen demoed in Amsterdam. It's fabulous indeed.

Making progress(ive)

A mate just pointed me at the de-interlace filter that comes with Nattress' plugins for Color. There are some expamples of how good it looks, and as we are all putting more stuff on the web that was not necessarily shot progressive it's a useful tool. There are some other very pretty bits here too

Just finished a rushed edit for the 3 day jazzfest, look out for it on The Sage’s Vimeo HD channel and I’ll put a link up soon as Debbie Harry et al have approved it that is.
I loved Napoleon Maddox, and let him tell the story...
My first time working with Sony XDcam EX footage too.  It wasn’t as troublesome as I thought it might be, but then again is was shot by some good guys!

Red's competition on the horizon?

Extract from the full article

Avid to FCP (shamelesss self promotion)

Wow, that was a great course last week. The class was made  up of long standing newshounds from well known corporations, and full time editors Soho post houses etc.

Loads of features in FCP get missed by people who have no time to explore the app properly because of heavy workloads.  I'm proud to say I have saved these people a lot of time and energy! They broke into aplause at the end, and I assume that it was not just relief that it had finished..........

I'm off to London later this week to teach FCP to Avid switchers.

I've been spending a lot of time playing with Compressor this week, and should be able to show you some settings and clips very soon.
